Let`s go hiking!

Mountains are very beautiful with views that take your breath away. However, as I am a city girl, I have never been a fan of mountains or hiking. But when you live in Norway, you simply have to try it!

So we hiked for about 3 hours to a mountain called Gaustatoppen (1883 metres), situated near the city called Rjukan in Norway. This mountain is considered as the highest mountain in the area Telemark. The way up was covered in stones as it made the way up quite unstable. We took a family path up, but you can also take more advanced and extreme one, if you are an enthusiast and well experienced in hiking. The views were of course magnificent and many people were hiking in front of us and behind us. There is also a cable car (Gaustabanen) which can take you to the top!

At times it seemed a bit tough on the legs, but other than that it wasn’t that bad. Mostly it was really really cold. Especially on the top. So be sure to bring some warm clothes. It depends on the day of course, but we hiked in July and it was still really cold.

To summarise it all, it was a different, beautiful and fun experience which I will remember for life! Enjoy the photos. 🙂

Confidence check + OOTD

” Be proud of who you are, and not ashamed of how someone else sees you.”

IMG_7823

Do you recognise yourself walking down the street,

All alone, with bright new set of heels.

People start to look at you, up and down, their eyes roll through,

And suddenly all you can think is,

What the hell is wrong with you?

“Don`t they like my hair, or my shoes are too high?

Do my pants look dirty or my shirt is too bright?”

All these questions run through your head, you almost brake a sweat.

And you swear to yourself, to never wear this set again.

You have to wear simple t-shirt and jeans, because it is better to disappear in the crowd,

Than feel so green.

But Honey, let me tell you. This is quite wrong.

They look at you because you are fabulous

And would like to remember that look you own.

Others opinion is really not in your interest,

So we shouldn’t be afraid whether is bad or good.

Everyone has the right to have their opinion about things,

As well as you do, as he, she or I do.

The streets are your stage, embrace your uniqueness today!

IMG_7813
This two-set is from H&M; ALDO sneakers; Purse with a chain strap from Morris and Michael Kors sunglasses.

IMG_7757IMG_7847IMG_7810

You know, when I first saw this two-set in the store a few of years ago, I liked it immediately, since I assumed it looked cute, different with a hint of vintage feel. But when I got it, one random thought hit me – it looked so similar to old kind of table cloth. I simply couldn’t get that thought out of my head and I literally convinced myself that everyone would laugh and point at me if I wore this piece of clothing. Such a silly thought when I think about it now. I was imprisoned into my own made beliefs and I couldn’t wear this item, even though I really liked it.

It took me more than two years to change my mind set completely. Accidentally, I found this two-set in my closet this summer, all wrapped in the back. I put it in the front of my closet and proudly wore it with a big smile. This proves that even our own thoughts and opinions change! Make sure to wear clothes you like and be confident about it! 🙂

Flower Bouquet

When you get a beautiful flower bouquet even on vacation. ❤ This is the story about it…

IMG_8429

That day in the beginning of July, we decided to go kart racing in Klaipeda (gokartas.lt). We`ve been planning to do it for a long time. Finally, we arrived at the place and excitement was slowly rising. The woman who worked there told us to wait for the next round. She told us to come in, as I say, their little house, where you suppose to pay, register your name, put your purse into the locker and pick up a helmet. So we sat outside, watching other people riding both fast and slow, listened to the sounds karting cars were making and we were widely smiling while waiting for our turn.

Then suddenly the lady told us to come inside to register our names and pay for the ride. We realised that we didn’t have any more cash, only money on the card. Most places take cards nowadays, but unfortunately that wasn’t that kind of place. She told us that they only take cash. Well, that was a bit disappointing, but luckily a food store with a mini bank was situated close by. So no worries, we went there.

On the way to the minibank, near the store, we saw some elders selling their garden goodies to the people passing by. An old lady looked at us and said that she only got one bouquet left that she wanted to sell that day. She looked at my guy and ask if he wanted to buy those flowers for me. Beautiful wild flowers looked and smelled simply heavenly. He looked at me and smiled, handed the lady a couple of euros that she asked for the flowers and with that simple action made two women really happy that evening! 😀 The old woman immediately started packing and could finally go home. And me, well, I couldn’t stop smiling and took a bunch of photos!

IMG_8424IMG_8431 2IMG_8394IMG_8420

After kart racing we were full of adrenaline and decided to buy a take away pizza. And tell me, what could be better than eating pizza on the beach by a beautiful Baltic Sea. The sea water was quite still which is rare and the sunset we got to see was shiny and beautiful.

Magical

This story just once again reminds us that everything happens for a reason! Leave me a comment, I would love to read your thoughts and stories!

Meet&Greet with Baby Tigers in Klaipeda

So where should I start this fun adventure? I never thought I would do this. I didn’t have a single thought about this particular meet in my head. Especially I couldn’t imagine Lithuania as a place where you can greet baby tigers. But as I once wrote a song “Unexpected Things Happen”. Indeed, that is the truth. When you least expect it, then you get it. These things make life exciting!

IMG_8634
Look at those eyes!

The day started with us deciding where we wanted to go. Klaipeda Zoo is 10 kilometres from Klaipeda and that didn’t seem far away or uncomfortable to get to, because we had a car. We didn’t have high expectations for the place. This Zoo was started by one man called Edvardas Legeckas, already in 2001. But only in 2014, the place got the Zoo status and changed its name. However, we were nicely surprised when we entered the Zoo area, since it looked quite big, with lots of people visiting.

The first thing that caught my eyes on the way to the ticket office, was people touching and enjoying the company of small baby tigers, inside a building, with windows all around. It was a unique sight. Then I understood – I wanted to have this experience in my life. We payed 15 euros each, to be able to meet the tigers for 10 minutes and patiently waited for our turn.

When our time came, it was impossible to hide the excitement and happiness. You could instantly notice different personalities and moods of the tigers. There was one white tiger, obviously tired, chilling on the blanket in the corner. Another white tiger seemed to attack my leg, but the lady who took care of them said that he was just being playful and handed me a toy to play with him. So there I was, playing with a tiger for the first time in my life!

IMG_8631IMG_8641

Another thing I wanted to do in those 10 minutes we got there, was to pick one tiger up and hold him in my hands for the picture and simply see how it felt like. To be honest, I tried to pick the tiger up probably around 5 times, if not more. Every time I got scared because they were quite heavy and the second I tried to lift one up, he made a weird noise. I noticed one man lifting tigers up and down with no fear, even though they made the same sounds. After that, I thought that I can do it as well. And voíla, I did it! My facial expression and huge smile says it all. I didn’t know my smile could get this wide before this meet&greet happened! It was totally worth it!

Adorable babies! ❤

I hope you enjoyed reading this story and will look forward for more! 🙂

That Blue Little Dress + OOTD

I wanted to share with You some photos of a beautiful blue dress, that accidentally caught my eyes in one of the stores while on vacation!

We were slowly walking in a shopping mall called Akropolis, when I decided to check the RESERVED store. And there I saw this dress, hanging in front of me and calling my name. The material is very comfortable and quite light. This dress has white stripes, cute little ruffles (kutosiukai) at the bottom and of course, it is an off-shoulder dress. Since I really like off-shoulder items for the summer season.

I paired this dress with little heart choker necklace, big white watch, black chunky heel sandals and black little purse with chain strap. I also wore beautiful Quay sunglasses. For this full look, check out my Travel with Ruta video from Nida. 🙂

White ZARA Jacket + OOTD`s

Can you imagine when a clothing item is meant to be yours?

You discover it for the first time when the store launches their new collection. It catches your eyes immediately and you think it looks amazing. However, at the time, the price seems a bit too high, so you simply walk away and forget about it.

Only to discover the sales after some months. And then you meet again, after a while, but still the same attraction… Completely random if you think about it, but at the same time perfect timing, as you will realise later.

You walk closer, there is only one jacket left. Your palms start to sweat slightly and slowly while you carefully lift the price tag, to look for which size is left alone. And then, you imagine sparkles in your eyes and feel the joy drifting through your body. All this because this is your size! You feel a desire to shout in excitement so the whole store could hear you. Obviously, you keep it inside of you and instead try the jacket on, there and then. Don’t bother going into the changing room only for a jacket, when there are mirrors everywhere. You put it on and it fits perfectly and looks really great on you! Why wait anymore, you go and buy it!

This is the story about my Zara jacket which I bought on sale before my trip and wore it almost everyday in Lithuania. I guess it is not that bad that it was chilly there. As my friend said to me – in spite of the weather conditions, at least you got a chance to wear this beautiful jacket. 😀

Here are some OOTD`s with this jacket from my vacation in Lithuania!

Lithuanian Sea Coast: NIDA video

The last video of my Lithuanian Sea Coast series is here. I hope you enjoyed these videos and you are looking forward for what is here to follow! ❤

Screen Shot 2017-07-22 at 17.23.18

Personally, I have really enjoyed making these videos and sharing them with you guys, because I got a chance to relive these beautiful moments. Making this kind of travel videos in general is a big passion of mine. And I know for sure that it will be so amazing to watch these summer vacation videos in winter time and see how beautiful my home country is, if you look at it in the right angle. When sad thoughts come into your head, when you simply cannot wait for the warmth, sun, vacation and summer activities, memory videos like these help a lot. Also for inspiration, happiness and beautiful views. You simply get reminded of blessings in your life.

Enough of the sentimental thoughts. I guess, I am missing this vacation already. 🙂 Let`s talk a bit about this vacation resort town called Nida. This town is indeed really beautiful with its own charm and relaxing vibe, situated in the centre of Neringa municipality. As you can see in the video, it is way smaller than Klaipeda and Palanga, and we only stayed there for half a day. We took a ferry from Klaipeda to Smiltyne, which took us only 5 minutes. It is really fast. And then, if you go by car, it takes around half an hour to drive from the ferry to Nida. You also drive past Juodkrante, which is also a small, nice and cozy resort. There are beautiful bike paths from Smiltyne to Nida. If you are a sporty person and bike enthusiast, try biking both ways!

You will find one main path by the sea, both for pedestrians and bikes in Nida, which leads you to the beautiful dunes (kopos in Lithuanian, as I am saying in the video, since I really didn’t know the word dunes then). Dunes is such an unusual landscape created by the sea and wind. When you get up the stairs, you get to see a breathtaking view, which you have to experience yourself! Only there and then you understand how fragile and at the same time mighty this landscape is. Behind the scenes were us, simply sitting on the sand, enjoying the view and eating fresh strawberries from the garden.

There is a feeling of slow life in Nida. As you can spot in the video below, while we walked besides, an old woman was slowly hanging her newly washed clothes on the wire for them to dry outside. Around two hours later, when we walked back to the car, the woman was still slowly hanging the clothes and talking to her neighbour. How cute is that? This shows that you have to really slow down in Nida and truly relax.

What is a bit sad about this resort is the fact that it`s quite expensive. However, it is totally understandable why. The climate of Lithuania won’t let the tourists enjoy Nida in any other season, except of summer. Restaurants, hotels and other businesses only have three short months to do their thing. It is natural that they have to increase their prices in order to survive. Also you have to pay 20 euros in order to be able to drive into this beautiful town with a car. And you know what, there wasn’t a second that we doubted whether we should go to Nida or not. It is totally worth it!

Enjoy the video in HD and I hope you will visit Nida some day! Also check out my Palanga and Klaipeda videos in my previous posts, if you haven’t done it yet, and feel free to tell me what you think! 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: PALANGA video

The time has come for my second Travel with Rūta video, this time from a city called Palanga. A vacation resort well known for the Lithuanians as well as some foreigners. A city of romance!

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 21.26.07

When I was still living in Lithuania, this town was our family number one vacation spot in summer time. I didn’t use to care about the cold sea water, since the Baltic Sea doesn’t really get warmer than 18 degrees. However, saying that you get use to good things fast is  very true. As fast as you get to know a truly warm sea, you just don’t feel the need to go into cold sea. There is good enough to only feel the water with your feet. That is what I did and I feel very content about it. No regrets about not swimming in the Baltic Sea this time!

A long beach stretches out far far away, to other small town called Šventoji and has in all a seafront of 25 kilometres! Light and pleasant sand, soughing waves and special dunes. The combination of these things will give you peace of mind and sense of harmony. If you decide to go far by the sea, you can try to find some amber or pretty shells.

Unique dunes is an ideal place to hide yourself from the wind or to find a more comfortable, intimate and warmer corner. The beach in Palanga is very crowded on a warmer day, especially in the weekends in summer time. Therefore, the dunes are the place to be for the people who like a more quiet and private relaxation.

If you ever go to this city, do not forget to visit famous Palanga bridge (Palangos tiltas), where people gather together to watch remarkable sunsets. We were lucky enough to experience an outstanding sunset while visiting Palanga. It is hard to describe it. You will see it in my video which is in the bottom of this post. To see it in video is of course not the same as being in the moment, but you will get an idea of how perfect it was. And yes, I really think it was perfect. ❤

Some other famous places are the famous Basanavicius street, is where all the fun is situated – different bars, cafes, clubs, attractions and activities, where different music is being played and performed live on the evenings. Also Tiškevičiai Palace and Amber Museum, Birutė Park and Musical Fountain. These are the places shown in the video that are worth a visit or two!

I hope you will enjoy the video and catch a happy inspiration! Don’t forget to watch it in HD! 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: KLAIPEDA video

Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 20.26.49.png

How are you guys doing?

I have been in my home country Lithuania for the last couple of weeks. The most of my time was spent by the Lithuanian sea coast, which is on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. The weather wasn’t that pleasant at times, as August tends to be a warmer month there. However, we had such an amazing time doing different activities.

I decided to do a Lithuanian Sea Coast series, consisting of 3 short Travel with Ruta videos from the cities Klaipeda, Nida and Palanga. I will tell you more closely about some special and exciting things I have done while abroad in other blog post. For example meeting some super cute baby tigers in Klaipeda Zoo and I will share some outfits of the day.

Let`s start our journey together by watching my travel video from Klaipeda, the third largest city in Lithuania, situated by the Baltic Sea. This video consists of sightseeing, beautiful beaches and of course some funny dance moves, just the way I like it. While I am in progress with different exciting activities, I usually forget to film. Not only forget, but there is simply no time for filming when excitement hits your head. Therefore, my travel videos usually don’t include activities, but rather sightseeing and nature.

I hope you will enjoy it and catch that good and happy vibe, which you can use as inspiration for positive travels in style! Follow me and we will be in touch. (Don’t forget to watch the video in HD.) 🙂

How to pack light for your travel + OOTD

IMG_9766

IMG_9759
The same amount of clothes packed in two different ways.

Finally, vacation time is here and that means that time has come for our vacation travel! This year we are travelling to Lithuania for two weeks! And guess what, two weeks have to be packed into 10 kilo maximum luggage. Well, no problem at all! There is no need to overpack. You simply have to think through everything you will need and want to wear. And it is absolutely possible to wear the same outfit item more than once. So get creative and write down the most important things you will need for your travel. In this way, it will be much easier to pack only the things you will truly need.

Also if you don’t want to use your time on your vacation thinking about outfits, take some time beforehand to prepare your outfits piece by piece. Put the ready outfit on the ground or your bed and take a photo of it. Try to combine the same pants, jacket or blouse in different outfits. Choose two pairs of neutral shoes that will go with most of your outfits. Sneakers are a must and the second pair can be chosen individually. Personally, I like to take shoes with platforms that will go with a dress or a more dressy look. The shoes I choose are still comfortable for me, because I really like walking. If I go to a warm destination, I also bring my flip flops that are perfect for the beach. But this time this is not the case.

19433715_1559639354060256_1757436558_n 2
Example of an outfit picture for yourself while travelling.

There are actually 3 travel essentials – passport, flight tickets and your visa or money. After these items follow phone, toiletries, some clothes and other electronic devices or shoes. And after these again it is all about your destination and preferences. Are you going to relax at the beach and will need a bikini, towel and diving glasses? Or are you going to bring your laptop? If you are into photos, do not forget your precious camera! If you are into using blow dryer or straightener in your everyday life, try to relax your hair from it on your vacation. You will look pretty in your natural state and at the same time you will save a lot of space in your luggage. Simply bring your hair brush and you are good to go.

How to pack your clothes? Wear the most heavy items and shoes. I always wear my leather jacket while travelling and my heavy shoes. The rest of my clothes are being wrapped and folded  in this way:

IMG_9760

FullSizeRender-52
My travel outfit, heavy jacket and shoes.

In the end, there is no need to stress before travels. There is no need to panic, only to think things through and invest some of your precious time beforehand. Write down the most important things you will need to bring with you and plan your outfits by taking photos. In this case you can only turn on your phone, look at the photos you took and choose the most desirable outfit for the moment. It will save a lot of your time and nerves! We all know how time flies while travelling and while you have loads of fun. After all, the most important thing is to have your tickets, passport, money and wonderful mood and company. Be ready for adventures and relax. You completely deserve it!

Have a wonderful vacation! ❤

Beautiful Places -> My Bucket List

Todays blog post is all about the Dream Destinations. Don’t you agree that we all should dream about the topic? Eventually take actions into our hands and make dreams into reality? Do your dreams look like they will only stay as dreams, so you almost want to give up dreaming completely?

There are so many beautiful corners of the world I would like to visit, probably many I don’t even know about. And I can say that sometimes those places look so far away, as I would never reach them. But I don’t like to think in that way. It is much better to think that one day you will be there, only looking back at yourself daydreaming and wishing to be at that place you see in front of you right now. Thinking positively will only increase your chances of making your dream destination into a reality! So maybe it is actually better to call it a plan and not a dream?

When you finally reach your dream place, it is important to remember not to rush through the experience, but rather feel every moment with your body and heart. It is important to collect those memories and experiences, as they give you some valuable life lessons you will appreciate today, tomorrow or after a while.

It is actually hard to write a bucket list, since there are so many beautiful and interesting cities, countries and islands I would like to visit. However, there are places I have been wanting to visit for quite some time. So here I chose 10 of those I have been wanting to visit the most.

Portugal

Nature, beaches, buildings, friendly people, good atmosphere, long nights and sunny days. Who wouldn’t like to visit this country?

Praia_da_Marinha_(2012-09-27),_by_Klugschnacker_in_Wikipedia_(1)

Santorini, Greece

This island really attracts me with the white buildings and different architecture. The vibe of this place looks so different from where I live. Therefore, I think visiting this place would be an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful-Santorini-Greece

Kreta

Another island I would really like to visit, where you find beautiful nature, beaches, culture and can experience ultimate vacation.

Kreta-map-oversikt-TOPPBILDE

Menorca, Fuerteventura, Tenerife…

Since I loved Mallorca so much, I would like to visit the rest of Spanish Islands, to experience the differences and similarities, and feel the ultimate satisfaction once again. I simply cannot choose one of these islands…

California

From all of the states in the United States of America, I would like to visit California the most. With such a big influence from the Hollywood movies and TV shows I have always wanted to visit this particular part. We have all seen this place in movies, but it would be a whole different feeling to experience the place in reality and make own memories and notes on things.

california_simple.gif

afe1409fb__1600x0

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Colourful and never sleeping place with bright colours, wild dances, fiestas and parades, exotic fruits and deep culture. One of my friends lives in Brazil, and I would be more than happy to visit her there!

christ-the-redeemer.jpg

Paris, France

I haven’t visited Paris yet, where the romance is said to be blooming and my love for macaroons would be experienced by tasting the original ones! I would also really like to visit Disney World while being there.

Panorama_Paris_December_2007

Sicily, Italy

I have been in Rome around 4 years ago. The city seemed so full of culture and historic heritage. The next on my wish list from Italy is beautiful Sicily!

Sicily-Italy-4

Maldives

I love beach life, and the water in Maldives looks unbelievable. Do I have to say more?

08A_MLE_island_viewxxxx_01203

Bali, Indonesia

The place seems to have such a relaxing vibe. There are many movies and stories about Bali, referring to it as a healing place where you find your harmony and balance.

indonesia.jpg

Now I feel like I completely reached my own dream land. How much would I like to take photos at these beautiful places, make videos and simply enjoy my time with amazing company. I hope one day I will look back at this post, only to discover that all of this bucket list has been fulfilled and I already will have another bucket list of dream destinations  ready to share. ❤

Keep on daydreaming and who knows, maybe one day your dream won’t longer be a dream, but a reality.

Since this is my bucket list and I haven’t visited these beautiful places yet, the pictures are obviously been taken from Google. Thank you Google! 🙂

When It Rains + OOTD

Don’t let the rain ruin your mood. Don’t let the rain ruin your day plans.

FullSizeRender-47

IMG_8908

And definitely don’t let the rain ruin your outfit for the day! Grab your rain jacket, and let yourself shine through it! Your smile and inner energy will give brightness to those around.

Rainy and quite cold summer days can really affect your mood. Everything you wish for in summer time is warmth, sunshine, happiness, light clothes, ability to sunbath at the beach and swim in the sea. There are probably many more things you wish, but these are essential things that hits me firstly when I think about this season. Summer is so short already in the western Europe. However, it is how it is, and we can only make the best out of it. In this case, if nature gives you lemons, make some lemonade! You can still dress nicely for those cold, rainy summer days!

The rain definitely cannot stop my friend and I to enjoy our day. We took on some nice coats and headed for a city exploration. My friend went for a light, creamy raincoat and I chose a simple beige Mango coat. Also light scarfs are essential when there is chilly rain, even on those summer days and we chose cropped, blue skinny jeans. And always have an umbrella in your purse or backpack. I am so bad at this myself, as I constantly forget my umbrella and end up coming home all wet. Hopefully this post will help me to remember bringing an umbrella at any occasion. 😀

Even if it rains, have a lovely weekend guys!

When You are in Doubt -> Inspirational Travel Quotes

Have you ever been in doubt whether you should travel somewhere or not? I have experienced that a lot of people are still afraid to step out of their comfort zone when it comes to travelling. Meaning it is easier to stay at the place where everything is known and where you feel comfortable. Therefore, inspirational travel quotes are always a good idea when you are in doubt whether you should invest your money into this experience!

IMG_9113

Personally, I can spot myself wanting to go to a place where I have been before just because I know that I like that place so much and will experience maximum relaxation and joy. Instead of going to a place where I can get disappointed. However, you have to take that risk in order to discover wonderful places that will give you unforgettable memories. At the same time, every town, city and country has its own vibe and beauty. Therefore, we should always consider all of the sides and don’t be that judgemental. It is important to know what we want to get from travelling and with that in mind you are ready to choose a destination!

IMG_9197

FullSizeRender-31

If you are in doubt or only need some motivation, read these or other wonderful inspirational travel quotes and you will be willing to explore our wonderful world! Don’t hesitate and book a vacation. After all, memories and experiences you will have for life. ❤

We Love Colourful Weekends + OOTD

Recently, my amazing friend Valda visited me in Oslo for a couple of days and we were lucky enough to experience some sunny days, considering the unexpected weather conditions. And what can be better than spending the day walking slowly around the city centre, talking, laughing, taking pictures, grabbing some ice coffee and in general just enjoying your time? But in order to really feel good about yourself, put a bit of effort to combine an outfit you will feel confident and beautiful in. And here it is, you are ready to take over the streets!

Pastel and bright colours are wonderful choice on sunny days, as they appear fresh, playful and clean. Don’t let the sun over shine you, be someones sunshine and make them smile! 🙂 We chose to make outfits with my two pastel jackets. As my love for ripped jeans is still here, I could not resist to mix those with my jacket. Red purse was my biggest accent and accessory along with my pastel yellow jacket. My friend chose light blue cropped jeans that matched her beautiful light blue blouse and shiny leather shoes was her outfit accent along with the pastel pink jacket.

Two Choker Tops that I Love

If you have asked me half a year ago, what I think about a fabric choker, I would answer you that I don’t quite get this trend. Why would anyone make a hole in a top, instead of leaving it be as a turtleneck? But then I tried one on, and it grew on me. I absolutely fell in love with it and how it looks on me. I really like the fact that it looks different and the part on your neck has a unique accessory look. The scarfs are one of my favourite accessories, that means I am very used of keeping some fabric on my neck. Therefore a choker top fabric gives me that comfy feeling that I like.

FullSizeRender-28IMG_8848

IMG_8462
Also amazing makeup by Indre Antana. ❤

How did this choker trend from the 90s became so popular nowadays? For the past year, a lot of trends from the 90s came back, such as overalls, high waisted jeans and jumpers. Trends go around and come around only with new fabrics and details. The choker trend started on the runways in 2016 and then celebrities took it over and this highly influenced people to try it on themselves. This accessory is an easy way to adapt 90s trend to any outfit and that is probably why this trend grew on people so quickly. Nowadays, it is no longer considered as a 90s “cool girl” look. It became a key item and a distinct accessory.

I haven’t tried any choker necklaces just yet, guess I am a bit slow on things. I like to try and “taste” things in my own pace, without rushing or going with the flow. Chokers seem to slowly fade away, since the long necklaces take over their place. However, lately I have been thinking about of getting one shiny choker for summer, to make an outfit more interesting. What do you think about chokers?

Cat Café in Vilnius, Lithuania

IMG_0349
Ladies by the Cathedral of Vilnius.

When I was visiting my home country Lithuania last year, my brothers wife gave me the best suggestion – to visit the one and only Cat Café situated in the capital Vilnius. My nephew was dreaming about this cafe for a long time and I also didn’t hesitate to give a positive answer. I also invited my amazing friend and we headed off to the train station for our short and fun adventure.

The day started in a very unusual way. It was the end of July and the weather was typically really good. We took on our summer clothes and headed for a mini bus which was suppose to drive us to the train station. While sitting on that bus, we saw the sky slowly getting darker and darker. And suddenly, it started to pour! It was not only some summer rain. It was literally pouring with lighting getting the sky brighter, thunder making remarkable sounds and small ice cubes hitting the bus windows. Well, you can imagine our reactions. First, we laughed and then it got a bit scary to leave that bus. However, nothing would ruin our great trip mood! We ran from the bus to the train station, got really wet and laughed so hard it was hard to breath. The day got really interesting!

When we finally arrived in Vilnius (a one hour trip from a city called Kaunas), before we went to our goal place of the day, we decided to visit a beautiful public park called Bernardinai Garden (Bernardinu Sodas). There are botanic exhibitions, fountains, flowers and green areas with benches and small stream of water.

DSCF4335

The peak of this trip could be our running in the rain, but the Cat Café (Kačių kavinė) was originally our goal and took over the attention. And you are probably wondering what this café is all about? Do they serve cats there? Well, I want to calm you down. This café has many beautiful cats that walk around and you can look at them, pet them, buy them some treats, take pictures, go and play with them while you are waiting for your food, after you are finished eating or in between if you like. Therefore, the Cat Café is all about smiles and good vibes!

It is a very exciting and unusual concept that will definitely give you something to talk about. I have to say, that the cats are not that enthusiastic, probably very used to all of the people, attention and therefore not so excited to play or do something other than laying around or sleeping. However, if you decide to buy them a treat, which you can do right there, as my nephew did, then you will get surrounded by the cats and feel the real attention. Would you like to visit the Cat Café?

IMG_0369

Last but not least, how could we not go to one of the little cafes situated in the beautiful and lively Old Town of Vilnius? Delicious cakes, coffees, lovely live music delivered just next to you by talented street musicians. Perfect ending on this little and exciting trip!

Stylish by boldly following the trends?

You joyfully buy the most trendy jacket and a pair of ripped jeans. Next week you check out the same store to see that your trendy jacket has been replaced by another jacket and those ripped jeans you bought, well, now you should rather wear black leather pants instead… You are confused, a bit upset and get a huge desire to buy new clothes. Does this sound familiar to you?

Fashion industry is a business that has to constantly change and make you buy new clothes in order to survive.

il_340x270.559831411_5n0j

You should also be unpredictable with your style in order to be unforgettable. However, it doesn’t mean you have to buy new trendy outfits every week. You can still wear the same jacket with another pair of pants and blouse that fits perfectly and make you feel beautiful. And you know what? Your confidence and attitude is already irresistible!

You should choose a couple of season trends you really like and add that to your wardrobe. The rest should be your personal style and preference. It is also completely fine if you only like everything that is considered trendy for the moment.

So are you considered stylish by boldly following the trends? Partly yes and no. One thing is for sure, that you will definitely see someone dressed exactly like you on the streets and it shouldn’t be surprising because it is completely normal. And secondly, be prepared to spend quite some amount of money in order to follow all the trends that are being put out for us every week.

My personal consideration scale whether I should buy an item or not usually looks like this:

  1. Whether I really like the item or not.
  2. Whether it looks good on me and fits me well.
  3. Can I afford it right now?
  4. If previous three questions get a positive answer, I will definitely buy it!
  5. (Wow, this item is actually trendy right now.)

From this scale I see that trendiness is not something I look at first and it actually comes in the last place. More important is the personal preference, fitting and tidiness of the clothes. What are your thoughts on this topic? I would love to read it!

Have a stylish weekend! ❤

My favourite parks in Oslo, Norway

What can be better than finding a beautiful park in the middle of the city? Here, I will share my personal favourite parks in Oslo, Norway.

The first is definitely Royal Palace Park, which is probably the most central park in Oslo. It is not that big, but such a peaceful and green park! The main street is just down the hill, which makes it a great location for some relaxation! There are many beautiful plants, fountains and ducks swimming in the pond. You can imagine yourself as a royal while walking around, if you have a bright imagination. This park is especially beautiful in the evening, as the sun is slowly settling down between the trees. It is such a magnificent sight!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Number second would be Frogner park with Vigeland Sculpture Park inside of it, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oslo. It is situated in the area called Majorstuen. There are plenty of tourists in Vigeland Sculpture Park on summertime, to see all wonderful naked sculptures and roses blooming in all shapes and colours. While Frogner Park is a popular place among the locals, where people like to walk their dogs, go for a run or just enjoy their time – sunbathing, grilling, being with their friends or family. It is very nice to walk around the park and discover simple hidden nature beauties. I love waterfalls, small or big, it doesn’t matter. This park has it, and I am so glad for it! It is actually the largest park in the central parts of Oslo.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

There are no roses in the park yet, but I will definitely take some photos once the roses will start blooming in all kinds of beautiful colours. 🙂

Last but not least, there is a place called Sognsvann. I am not sure if it is considered as a park, but I look at it as one. There is a lake with a walking/running path that goes around the whole lake, which is around 3 kilometres long. Also there is an area which is great for sunbathing, fishing, grilling and picnics. You can also go for a swim or work out on the grass. People really love this place for work outs and runs. However, at warm days the place is packed with people sunbathing and grilling. If you don’t like to be in the mass, you can walk a bit by the lake and find a small, private space besides the water. Enjoy nature in your own way. This lake is not situated in the city centre, so you have either to take the metro or drive the car. There are plenty of parking spots, completely for free! Doesn’t this sound amazing?

If you are really into different plants and trees, then you should also visit Botanical Garden in the area called Tøyen. I used to work in this place and I can definitely say that it is a beautiful park worth a visit. Also a popular place for wedding photoshoots. Would you like to take a picture by the palm tree while in Oslo? Then this is the place you want to visit!

Take a walk in the park and smell the fresh air. Because sometimes that is all You need!♡

Spontaneous Evening by the Sea + OOTD`s

IMG_8158
When it comes to hair, don’t be afraid of the wind. It creates a messy and romantic hairstyle!:)

We are getting closer and closer to the summer time, it is only 6 days left! How time is flying so fast, you blink and – here we are! Many of us wait for the summer with excitement – vacation, travel, sunshine, ice cream, nature, smiles and joy. But while everyone is still in town, and weather is blinking at you with a smile, use this time to sponteneously spend some evenings outside!

Spontaneous meets are so exciting. When you simply grab some coffee and walk slowly, while enjoying the weather and being among the people mass. That is exactly what we did yesterday! So enjoy it simply and casually!

Me with Indre Antana.

When it comes to clothes, spring is quite unpredictable. Especially in a city which is situated by the sea. It can be windy and cloudy in the morning, so hot in the daytime, and much colder in the evening. Therefore, a jacket is actually a must. Then you feel secure at any time that you will not get cold. There are so many beautiful jackets out there for you to choose, so it should not be a problem. Remember to grab a jacket before you go out, and you will be ready for a spontaneous evening by the sea!

A day in Trakai, Lithuania

I was looking at some older photos and remembered one very nice trip that took place last July. So I decided to happily write about it!

When I visit my home country Lithuania, my girl friends and I have a tradition to visit a lot of different cafés. It is very exciting and fun. Since we were little girls, we used to save some money and visit our local café for a little treat. We always thought that it was a great way to spend some time together, catch up on things and treat ourselves properly. However, the last time I visited Lithuania in summer, we decided to do something different – to spend a day in Trakai. And of course, it included treats and goodies! 🙂

IMG_9888
The Castle of Trakai.

A short train ride from the capital of Lithuania, which is Vilnius, you will find a small but rather beautiful town called Trakai. It is a historical town and lake resort, which makes it a great tourist attraction with beautiful nature, history, culture and relaxation. We started our trip by taking a train from Vilnius to Trakai, which took us around half an hour. After that, we walked through the park by the lake to the city centre,  where the beautiful castle of Trakai is situated. Where people walk slowly, go for a boat or yacht ride, take lots of pictures, buy various of things in the streets and eat delicious food in the restaurants. Trakai is also very popular place for wedding photoshoots.

IMG_9886
While walking to the town.

Since the walking takes quite some time, it was about time to grab something to eat. And you ask what you could eat while visiting Trakai? Well, all Lithuanians know Trakai of their traditional heritage, which is called Kibinai (singular: kibinas). Therefore, You should definitely order one of those while visiting this beautiful town. But what is Kibinai? Basically dough pastry filled with meat and onion. It is usually made with different meats so you can choose the kind you prefer the most. Also they have vegetarian Kibinai, filled with cottage cheese and spinach. Delicious!

And guys, it was such a hot day! My shorts were literally glued to my legs. It was almost impossible to be in the sun. So after we ate, we found a wonderful shade spot under the trees besides the castle. There we sat, read a magazine and simply enjoyed peaceful surroundings.

IMG_9908

The Castle of Trakai is situated on the island, surrounded by lake Galvė. There is a bridge leading you to the castle, and you can walk around it for free, and inside can be visited by buying a ticket. This wonderful visit of ours was ended with some tasty ice cream and by taking a yacht! It is also one of the most common attractions in Trakai. On the hot day like that, it was perfect, so relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommended to spend a summer day in this beautiful town!

Choose to wear a Smile

A name You may not remember, but a smile You will never forget!

Fashion Friday of this week is being converted into Fashion Saturday! But no worries, I have a beautiful subject for you guys, which is called Smiling! It is so important to treat your inner beauty first and feel content with yourself and confident, as I wrote in the previous blog post – Choose to wear Confidence. Therefore, I want to talk about the main aspects that come from our insides, before we go and dig into outfit ideas and trends later on. You are never fully dressed without a smile on your face!

Have you ever heard that Smile is the best accessory anyone can wear? Have you thought about it, whether you agree?

Well, I agree with that 100%! A real and genuine smile does wonderful things to yourself as well as to other people. It brings out simple happiness and joy!

What would a big statement necklace look like with an angry or sad face? Of course, the necklace would distract peoples eyes for a while, but ultimately they will notice your well being. At the same time it is very difficult to frown when looking at someone who smiles. Therefore, by wearing your best accessory, you make others to wear their best accessories as well!  Smiling can also make you healthier. It can reduce the level of stress and overall blood pressure, it boosts your immune system and increases the level of mood enhancing hormones like endorphins. So are You smiling already?

IMG_8361
Beautiful Smiles of my wonderful people!

Therefore, the goal is to treat yourself well, treat your inner beauty by smiling. When your inner beauty is in place, it will shine through to your outer beauty. You can wear a genuine smile – the best accessory in the world, day after day and everyday.

It is very important to not be ashamed of your smile, since every smile is different, unique and beautiful in its own way. A happy, smiling person looks always more content and attractive. Smile to yourself every morning, smile to the other people everyday and you will hopefully notice a difference for your inner happiness, health and outer beauty! Never underestimate the power of a sincere smile. ❤

S`illot, Mallorca

Long walks combined with long conversations… You simply walk without knowing where you are going. You are following the path. Eventually you stop, find a place to sit, enjoy the nature and your lovely company. You feel as this is your place, you belong here. This feeling is magical and brings a lot of good emotions. Have you experienced something like this while being on holiday?

Small, pretty and cozy, previous fishing village, situated on the east coast, which is on the other side from Palma de Mallorca. The town is called S`illot. There are pedestrian ways, where you are able to walk or bike to other nearby places, such as Sa Coma, Cala Millor and Porto Cristo. The beach in S`illot is quite small, so walking to the beaches nearby is a great solution. And oh, one more thing, parking is free all around. Even arriving at 9pm in July, we found available parking spot. Well, don’t have that high of expectations for the parking spot looks. The most important thing is that you can find a place for your rented car which is nearby and completely for free! We stayed at the Universal Hotel Perla, which was located by the beach, with great service and delicious buffet breakfast.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

You like night life? Well, then this town is not that great of a choice. The only night place they provide is called Crazy Monkey Bar. There wasn’t that much action when we visited that place, but the music was still fully on. The positive thing is that the whole dance floor is yours! If you are brave enough to dance alone of course, it takes courage to start something, such as dancing when no-one else is doing so. But always remember, that life is actually too short to constantly be afraid of everything, especially things you want to do. If you want to dance, but are afraid of what people will think of you, who cares, you will probably never see them again after that night anyways and they are sipping on those fancy cocktails and will probably join you after a while. So let your hair loose, put on a favourite dress and dance for as long as you wish. The dance floor is yours!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

S`illot is also close to an amazing place called Cuevas del Drach. The cave situated in Porto Cristo has been known since the Middle Ages and has a maximum depth of 25 metres below the ground level. There is an underground lake situated in the cave called Lake Martel. This Cave visit ends with a short but beautiful classical concert performed by four talented musicians playing in the boat. There is completely dark in the cave, except of bulbs situated in the musicians boat. Wonderful experience! You can simply close your eyes and enjoy the magical moment. And there is a boat trip at the very end across Lake Martel!

IMG_8337.jpg

One more thing which we did that was very fun. That was a boat ride. Two hour long boat ride through splashing water, both dark blue and crystal clear turquoise, with some amazing views of caves, cliffs and cities. I also had my Marilyn Monroe moment while on the boat, (which you can see on the second slideshow), since the wind was so strong as the boat moved. It was so much fun! Also not to mention the guy that pronounced all the places we arrived to in a very amusing way. You have to really experience it to understand. But the memories are strong which means it was amazing!

Song of the trip.

Choose to wear Confidence

confidence-is-beauty

You probably recognise yourself trying on new trends, outfits, hairstyles or makeup you have seen on other people that looked amazing, only to feel the urge to change to something else and cover yourself with a blanket. You walk on the streets and constantly touch your skirt, or fix the scarf and you definitely don’t feel like dancing. When people take a look at you, you immediately think there is something wrong and you nervously look down. What is missing here? Why do other people look so much better in your eyes?

The answer is CONFIDENCE.

No matter what you wear, confidence is the key and how you feel inside. Since the taste is very personal, confidence is universal – it is beautiful and we recognise it regardless of what type of style you like and preference you have. Feel the most beautiful in the room and shine bright from inside and out. Beauty is what you feel about yourself. So choose to wear confidence today and everyday!

Have a shiny weekend full of confidence!

Explore LONDON continues

Time simply flies away when you have fun, they say, and it is absolutely true! That is what happened the next days we spent in London. No surprise we missed our evening ride on London Eye…

You see, we bought a Day & Night tickets, in order to see London by day and by night. The first admission has to be made during 10:00 to 16:00. The second admission has to obviously be made after 16:00, but the thing is that we didn’t check when the London Eye closed. We assumed it would be at least at 19:00. And guess what, we take beautiful photos at Buckingham Palace, watch beautiful sunset as we ride in the red bus and walk by the Big Ben towards the London Eye, excited to finish experience the sunset over the city…

Evening view

We arrive in excitement at 18:30, just to see empty lines and workers smiling, so ready to call it a day. London Eye closed at 18:00 and we were just halv an hour late. Oh well, we already experienced the amazing ride in day time, not minding the rain. There are plenty of things to do in London, have to keep the positive thoughts lined up first row!

Also we didn’t miss an opportunity to experience a show while in London. We saw a show called “Stomp”, performed at Ambassadors Theatre, which is a combination of rhythm, theatre, comedy and dance. There are 8 performers, who use all kinds of things, as kitchen sinks, brooms, plastic bags etc, to create some wonderful, feelgood rhythms. Everything sounded so funky, performed really professionally. No one speaks throughout the whole show, but that is the thing. Only universal language is used! Wonderful and very funny show, full of silent comedy and great funk created by urban things, you could never think using as instruments. I really enjoyed this show and walked from the theatre with a big smile on my face.

The video I made from London (which is down below) sums the whole trip up, with amazing places, buildings, nature… And the little dance is inspired by Zumba (which I really like), to make the video more authentic and interesting to watch! I hope You will enjoy the video, to look at London through my eyes, and it will inspire You in some way. ♡

Minimalism

fb7015c257bf41a2f623d5931e8c2b03

Nowadays, with so many choices and possibilities, we get often confused and lost. It gets hard to decide and choose, also when it comes to fashion. Then two beautiful words pop into our heads – Simplicity and Minimalism. These words bring calmness and create space in our minds and closets, where we can breathe and slow our pace.

Minimalism in fashion is all about clean, classical cuts and models, with basic, neutral colours. The key is to obviously keep it simple without pressuring the eyes with bright colours, sparkle and extravagant elements. The models should fit you well and quality of the fabric should be important as minimalism is also about minimising the size of your closet. This means that you should invest in a couple of pieces that can be mixed and matched for different occasions.

6a594830758e60dcef309a227b1cfc45 2

For example a classic blazer can be matched with a pair of jeans, regular t-shirt and sneakers for the day time. If you like it more classy and want to create an office look, wear it with a pair of classical pants, shirt and flat shoes. And guess what, You can wear that same blazer over a dress or skirt for the night out, combined with a pair of high heels. Voíla, You used the same blazer in four different outfits! I don’t even doubt that you will mix and match even more outfits using the same blazer.

You can also do the same with a dress. Find a dress that is made of a good material and fits you perfectly. Dress it down for the day time, with flat shoes, a scarf, blazer or cardigan, and dress it up for the evening out, with high heels, perhaps a belt and cute little purse.

Have a wonderful and simply beautiful weekend! ♡

Birthday in LONDON

So many places you can go to, so many buildings you want to see, free museums and those amazing parks, and do not forget the choices and all the people everywhere… Can you guess a big city, where I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year? Well, the heading said it already, but the guessing wouldn’t be that hard. Since London has it all!

IMG_1260
Exploring the city.

IMG_1231

IMG_1219

We arrived at London Stansted Airport early morning on my birthday. The nature was starting to wake up, and as we drove along, I noticed beautiful narcissus and pink cherry trees blossoming besides the roads. English architecture, red busses and nevertheless driving on the other side of the road, yes, it may sound very stereotypically, but there is no surprise that these are actually the things I first notice when I arrive in London. As the days go, you get use to these things and start to getting to know multicultural London.

IMG_7169

IMG_1279
St.James Park.

One of the things that I think is so great about London – is the possibility to easily find a beautiful park. The fact that London is packed with people, cars and everyone is constantly in the rush, makes it important to be able to find a beautiful spot, where the beauty of nature can take your breath away. My personal favourite park this time was St.James Park, which is situated very close to the Buckingham Palace. As we travelled to London in spring time, the nature was showing its best features. Blossoms, green grass, birds seeking for attention as the squirrels got it all. We love to walk a lot as we travel, so resting our feet on one of the benches situated in the park is also a great idea! If the weather was warmer, we would have done a picnic, but unfortunately it was still quite cold and windy. Well, next time, since picnics are amazing!

I always have a cake for my birthday, since I see it as a symbol. When you blow out the candles you happily wish for something as you get older and wiser. So I thought that it would be a bit weird without a cake this year, but it doesn’t matter as long as we have a wonderful day. But guess what, eventually we even got a cake with Happy Birthday sign on it! It was very spontaneous and not planned, since we saw the cake at the Top Shop, and said hey, it is perfect! They also have candles, so we got everything we needed for a small birthday celebration.

IMG_7131

We walked so much that day, said hi to the squirrels and birds, took photos besides beautiful trees and buildings, drank coffee, shopped, drove through the city and played bowling. However, the ending of the day couldn’t get any better! As the time got to 23:30, and the candles on the cake still weren’t blown out, we got to figure something out. A mini park besides the river, deep dark sky, brown bench, strong wind, napkins blown everywhere, cake cut with a plastic knife, wind refusing to lit those candles, but eventually giving up, apple juice, great company and laughs. This is my perfect ending of the day! Birthday in London was very memorable and fantastically great!

To be continued further on this trip…

5 Spring Season Trends

lushfabglam motivation quotes 5

Spring, oh dear Spring, are you here? Because your clothes look fierce and fabulous. However, the weather conditions won’t let me enjoy them quite yet, since the coat is hiding it all. Then it is about time to take a closer look into what is considered trendy for the season and pick pieces or patterns you like the most. Maybe You will hit some shops after this? Or check the online stores? Either way, continue reading this and enjoy the Art of Fashion!

What do trends dictate for this wonderfully blossoming season? Perhaps weather is not so ideal here in western Europe, but it will only get better. It is no surprise that pastel colours are making a huge hit this season. And ladies, you will find all shades of Pink to create a fabulous look!

However, Khaki colour is making its statement and is a main colour to look after this season. This colour looks great paired with different colour items, but especially the white ones. Do not hesitate and get yourself a Khaki item, since this colour is the new black!

Athletic Wear Elements

A sexy twist of athletic wear in all shapes, sizes and colours are shaking up the runways and different stores. Get inspired from these looks to create your own outfit!

Flower Power

It is no surprise that flower pattern made this list. Flowers are one of the things that associate with spring and its awakening nature. Flowers can be found in all shapes and sizes, which makes it easier to find unique pattern to each of you. Minimalistic big flowers, or full ornaments of the small ones – You can find it all!

Stripes all the way

Inspired by sporty wear, stripes are continuing to be a huge hit for this season and it looks like it will stay this way for a while. This pattern is very universal and anyone can wear it. If you are not a big fan of extravagant stripes, smaller and more simple stripes will look just as flattering.

OSLO in February

So good to look back and actually realise that nature is constantly changing and days are noticeably getting longer. Then it is easier to appreciate the warmer weather and brighter colours. Spring is slowly but confidently knocking on our windows.

Personally I have been living in Oslo for the last 4 years. Oslo is the capital of Norway and it`s quite small, but a lovely city with lots of nature and beautiful architecture. It has a laid back vibe, where people do not really rush that much. I really enjoy taking walks in the streets, especially on Saturdays, when the street musicians are at their best and people enjoy their day off. However, you will see most people outside on Sundays, as Norwegians love to run, sit down, take walks or simply enjoy no matter what kind of weather. Shops are closed on Sundays here in Oslo which makes it rather a perfect time to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Travel Video I made down below, consists of the best known places in Oslo worth visiting, such as:

Royal Palace; The main street called Karl Johan; Main building of the University of Oslo; The City Hall (Rådhuset); Area around Oslo Central Station; The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet House; Cathedral (Dom Kirke); Vigeland Sculpture Park; Movie Theatre Colosseum; Holmenkollen area and Tower; Aker Brygge, Nobels Peace Centre and more.

It is worth noticing that it is a winter travel video where cold colours dominate and nature looks quite different than it does now. Follow me through lovely Oslo and maybe we will stop for a cup of coffee in the end? Let me know if you would like me to make a summer video as well!

Spring Vibes in Light Colours

Nights are getting shorter and Days are getting longer. Cannot wait to enjoy shy sunlight and to take long walks. Also how amazing is it to leave your coat at home and fully show your outfit? It gets immediately more tempting to dress up more and experiment with your wardrobe. And what fits better with that warm late spring and early summer breeze than light materials and pastel colours to create a fresh look?

Style is something personal and individual and should be matched with the persons personality and lifestyle. Todays style is quite classy, girly and fresh.

The theme is long and short white bottoms. First is cropped high waist, wide pants and second is high waist shorts with accessories on them. Classy cuts matched with cute and playful details, such as bright shoes and more loose tops in light pink pastel colour. I really love this colour for the spring and summer season. Simplicity mixed with creative little details give delightful completeness to the look!

Much love and positivity,
