My Favourite Knitwear – Inspirations

Wonderful readers,

I do not know if you feel the same way, but personally I really like looking for inspirations online. Especially inspirations regarding fashion, style and outfits. In that way you can understand your own unique style better and get new ideas what you like and what you would like to try on.

Max Mara, Ready to wear Autumn/Winter Collection, 2017.

I really loved this whole Max Mara season collection. Pictures are taken from Pinterest.

Victoria Beckham, Ready to Wear Autumn/Winter Collection, 2017.

I have a desire to get myself a couple of new knitwear sweaters for fall as well as the winter season. Before I use to joke about the colours in my closet. You know, I always organise my closet in spring and in fall season. In that way, it is really easy to see what you have and perhaps what you want to get or what you do not need anymore. Anyways, grey and black were the dominant colours in my closet. But this year, I am really into light colours. White, beige, light pastel pink, camel, also light grey, these are the colours I want to wear more of. Also red will always stay one of my favourite colours.

Therefore, it is perfect time to look for knitwear inspirations for this fall/winter season. And what can be a better place for it than pinterest.com and various online shops? Here, I want to share with you some of my favourite knitwear for this season and hopefully it can inspire you to look through your wardrobe and perhaps discover something you already have or would like to get as well. Here are my favourite knitted sweaters that look stylish, warm and cosy.

Discovery of the Week #1

Wonderful readers,

I want to wish you a happy, warm and full of smiles and laughter weekend. And I hope you had a wonderful Friday!

Today, I am starting a new category where I will tell you about my personal discovery of the week. It can be a new clothing item, accessory, something from the beauty sphere or something for your home. You get the idea already. Also in the same post, I will share with you my favourite of the week – a song, movie, tv-show, book or something similar. I hope you like this idea and will enjoy these posts! I will try my best to post these weekly. Let`s get this started already! 🙂

The discovery of this week has to be my new boots for winter! It is very important to keep your feet warm. When the weather is getting remarkably colder and colder, it is just about time to get ready for those days when the temperature drops below zero. And why not do it with style? When I saw the colour of these shoes, I melted immediately. I cannot wait to style and wear these booties!

My favourite of the week is definitely this remix I jam to in the mornings. Maybe I should try to do it with my new shoes on?

What is your discovery of the week?

Much love and positivity,

Ruta Antana

A day in the life + OOTD

Wonderful readers,

How is your Sunday? I decided that we all should take a moment to appreciate the beautiful autumn nature, before it changes again. I want to share with you some photos from yesterday.

My mom came for a visit, so we spent an active day together, walking through leaves, between lots of people in the city centre, checking fashion and beauty news in stores. Also we were chilling and dreaming at the cafe.

This is a day in the life! ❤

I wore a pretty much black outfit (except of my brown leather jacket), and I think it was a great choice. It is a wonderful contrast with these bright golden leaves.

I love this fake fur purse, it is very comfy and it is big enough for the things I need the most while being outdoors.

Autumn Survival Guide

Wonderful readers,

There are more rainy days than sunny ones, gloves are already living in my purse and colourful leaves are all curled up under the feet. Yes, colder is definitely here and shows us both its negative and positive sides. But what to do when those windy, wet and grey days make you miss summer more and more? What if you find it harder and harder to smile and enjoy this moment? Then keep on reading. We need to look into things how to ´survive` autumn with a smile. Maybe this will even make you fall in love with autumn, if you do not love it already. So here we go.

Warm clothing items

It is very individual how we tolerate colder days and how many clothes we should wear to not feel frozen. But we are all humans and like to keep us warm and feel soft materials against our skin when precipitations do not act friendly. Personally, the most important for me is to keep my neck, hands and feet warm. These are the most important areas for me to keep covered up to not feel cold. Therefore, a big scarf, warm socks or shoes and gloves are my essential items for autumn, as well as winter. Also it is great to layer up your clothes to keep you warm and therefore more happy.

Candles or good light at home

You will probably spend more and more time at home. Therefore, it is very important to keep it light and bright when days are getting remarkably shorter. Personally, I really enjoy having lots of lighted candles at the evenings. But if you are allergic or simply doesn’t like it, just make sure it is enough light to brighten up your day.

Seasonal Recipes

It is perfect time to discover a chef inside of you by preparing warm meals from seasonal goodies! The mighty pumpkin has to be taken care of. Make pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie,  cook it with other vegetables, or make an apple cake. I really like pumpkin soup, made with carrots and potatoes. I want to make it soon and hopefully share the recipe with you!

Hobbies

This particular thing takes a huge part into making our autumn a happy place. It is so important to discover your own personal hobbies that will make you busy and happy. It can be anything you enjoy doing – doing different crafts, reading books, watching movies, playing instruments, dancing, playing sports, making food, going shopping, searching online, watching vlogs etc.etc. It can be anything, just make sure it is close to your heart and makes you truly happy. Also hobbies tend to develop into some kind of goals. That is a wonderful side effect if you ask me!

Take care of you skin

Even though some people may say this doesn’t affect their day, but I honestly think that good sight in the mirror does make us smile more. We feel more confident and content with ourselves if we like our own reflection. So it is very important to take care of our skin these colder months. Use good moisturises, treat yourself with face masks, don`t forget lip balm, drink lots of water and have a healthy and nutritious diet. After that, it is your own preference of how much makeup etc you would like to wear. For example bright lipstick tend to brighten the day. But the essential is to keep our skin looking healthy.

Love and be loved

Last but not least, it is so important to love and be loved. Not only in autumn, but all year around. Small acts of kindness and love give us happiness and energy to achieve our goals and smile brightly. Give love and don`t expect anything in return. After all, this weather is truly cuddle weather! ❤

Sunday Exploration

Wonderful readers,

Here we are again, yet another beautiful Sunday. Time does fly! Last Sunday, I wrote a post about my healthy orange smoothie and how I spent a lazy day indoors with tv shows and things like that. This Sunday I decided to do something different.

Today was beautiful weather, with blue sky, sun and 13 plus degrees celsius. Therefore, I decided to take a long walk to the places I have never been before. With other words – explore the city!

IMG_1185
Exploration OOTD.

I have to tell you, it was so much fun. I discovered some pretty amazing places, where I could see part of panorama view of the city, also some smaller streets with old houses and really loud and beautiful waterfall. Also instead of smoothie I drank a bit too much delicious latte at my brothers place. No regrets!

FullSizeRender 47

I definitely recommend to explore the unknown streets, because it is the best way to find beautiful spots and places that should be visited by You! So let`s go!

Small pleasures + Date night look

Wonderful readers,

How is your Friday so far, perhaps going for a date later on? I want to tell you about three things from yesterday that made me very excited!

First of all, miss wonderful SUN finally arrived! I almost forgot how it felt like to wake up to the blue and bright sky. Also fallen golden leaves on the ground look magnificent in the sun light.  Therefore, the first thing I did was to find my hidden sunglasses and go for a little walk. On the way, I threw some old clothes into special clothes container, that delivers second hand clothes to the countries in need.

FullSizeRender 45

Second great thing was that I got invited for a date! It is so important to still do these little things to each other, even if you live together. So I got dressed up and was all excited. Here is my outfit for a date night on a Thursday. I wore a black dress with black tights, bordeaux boots and coat, while outside I wore blue scarf and black little purse with a chain strap.

And finally the third thing that happened was that I finally got to taste vegan Matcha Latte while on the date. I have been wanting to taste it for a long time. And I have to be honest that I actually expected a different taste. Matcha basically means powered green tea, that contains a lot of caffeine and some health benefits. I guess this is one of the tastes that you have to get use to. I do not want to be quick to judge, therefore I will make an opinion about it after some more cups. On the other hand, my guy really liked it from the first sip. You really cannot argue about taste!

Hello Sweet October

Wonderful readers,

You probably think I am being sarcastic with this title, since what is so sweet about October? Days are getting shorter, grey sky is becoming an everyday sight, cold wind and rain on daily basis and you definitely cannot go out of the door without your scarf and especially strong umbrella… Well, when I put it in this negative way, it really does sound depressing. But I do not want to go in this direction.

Of course, all of the things I mentioned above are totally true. But at the same time, we can look at these things in a different perspective, without getting ourselves into this grey and sad bubble.

IMG_1071

Days are getting shorter? Well, it is about time to find a hobby and light a lot of candles at home. It makes an amazing atmosphere and calms your soul. Grey sky is your everyday sight? Perfect, now you can wear something bright coloured, like a coat, and stand out while walking outside. Cold wind and rain on daily basis? It is just about time to start layering your clothes and feel comfortable and warm whenever you go. Also, you can do more creative work, try some new recipes, start watching a new show, visit local cafes or read books when the rain drops tickle your windows. And there are so many beautiful scarf, hat, coat and boot options that will make you want even colder days. Now, does it sound as bad as before? Absolutely not. I could make an even longer list of these positive side effects.

IMG_0986
I love these knitted slippers made by my boyfriends grandma.

Eventually, we see – It all comes to our mindsets. We simply have to constantly remind ourselves to keep the right mindset at all times. So why I called this October sweet? Because I decided to start it with a smile, piece of cake, delicious coffee, by taking out my comfortable cardigans and by lighting a bunch of candles at the best place in the world – home. I did this, because why not? It definitely made me feel good and made me excited about the rest of the month. Therefore, find your own ways to make this October sweet and take some time to check if your mindset is where you want it to be.

Falling Leaves + OOTD

Wonderful readers,

How is your Saturday? Yesterday, I was walking a lot in the city, through the stores and little streets. Such a wonderful time it is, when leaves are beautifully coloured, but still mostly on the trees. The weather is still pleasant and you can enjoy the day light until around 7pm.

FullSizeRender 39

But there was one street, where the whole pathway was completely covered in leaves. You know the sound leaves make when you walk on them without lifting your feet that much? YES, the sound! That wonderful sound, real comfort for my ears. That moment, I realised how deeply I enjoy looking and walking on autumn leaves.

Today, we celebrated my dads birthday and I decided to wear one of my favourite autumn dresses. It is very loose and girly, super comfortable and playful.

I wore it in two different ways. The first one for the day time, with black belt, black tights, light beige trenchcoat and bordeaux boots. The second one is darker, where the difference is brown leather jacket and black over the knee boots.

Summer Vibes – Blue Dress

Wonderful readers,

Recently, I saw a lot of pictures of people travelling to warm countries, enjoying the sun, warm weather, slow walks, cold drinks, sandy beaches and light clothes. There is quite different view outside of my window I have to say, but still very beautiful. At first, I caught myself being a bit jealous of those pictures, but then I looked through the photos from my summer trip. And I realised, there is nothing to be jealous about. Things happen by their pace, how they suppose to happen. And I feel very content where I am now! Let`s be happy for others and embrace our beautiful moments! 🙂

IMG_8271 2

So while looking through my summer memories, I decided to share with You some photos of my blue dress, that accidentally caught my eyes in one of the stores while on vacation this summer! It became my top summer outfit! What was your top outfit of this summer?

“Life is everything, except of perfection.”

I paired this blue dress with little heart choker necklace, big white watch, black chunky heel sandals and black little purse with chain strap. I also wore beautiful Quay sunglasses.

Treat Yourself with Healthy Smoothie

Wonderful readers,

Are you having active or quiet Sunday at home today? Mine is the second one, with tv shows and comfortable clothes and I decided to make something very delicious and healthy. Of course, I want to share it with you! Also bright orange colour is just a plus to add to this grey day. So here is my orange smoothie!

You will need: two carrots, two apples, glass of water, table spoon of honey and a blender. This will give you two full glasses of delicious smoothie.

Start by peeling the carrots and apples, cut them into cubes and firstly blend carrots with water. Then add the apples, honey and blend again. You are ready to treat yourself with this wonderful brightness in the glass! This smoothie is super easy to make and benefits you with important vitamins and minerals.

FullSizeRender 22

Carrots are very good source of vitamin A (beta-carotene) which is important for good vision and immune system, biotin -> important in fat and protein metabolism, vitamins K -> promote bone health, and B vitamins. Apples are good source of fiber and vitamin C. Especially if you use season apples from a near garder or farm (these apples tend to be more sour which is even better). Honey also contains many health benefits, which include fighting bacteria, energising our body and boosting our immune system. Cheers to good health and positive mood! ❤
