Autumn Survival Guide

Wonderful readers,

There are more rainy days than sunny ones, gloves are already living in my purse and colourful leaves are all curled up under the feet. Yes, colder is definitely here and shows us both its negative and positive sides. But what to do when those windy, wet and grey days make you miss summer more and more? What if you find it harder and harder to smile and enjoy this moment? Then keep on reading. We need to look into things how to ´survive` autumn with a smile. Maybe this will even make you fall in love with autumn, if you do not love it already. So here we go.

Warm clothing items

It is very individual how we tolerate colder days and how many clothes we should wear to not feel frozen. But we are all humans and like to keep us warm and feel soft materials against our skin when precipitations do not act friendly. Personally, the most important for me is to keep my neck, hands and feet warm. These are the most important areas for me to keep covered up to not feel cold. Therefore, a big scarf, warm socks or shoes and gloves are my essential items for autumn, as well as winter. Also it is great to layer up your clothes to keep you warm and therefore more happy.

Candles or good light at home

You will probably spend more and more time at home. Therefore, it is very important to keep it light and bright when days are getting remarkably shorter. Personally, I really enjoy having lots of lighted candles at the evenings. But if you are allergic or simply doesn’t like it, just make sure it is enough light to brighten up your day.

Seasonal Recipes

It is perfect time to discover a chef inside of you by preparing warm meals from seasonal goodies! The mighty pumpkin has to be taken care of. Make pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie,  cook it with other vegetables, or make an apple cake. I really like pumpkin soup, made with carrots and potatoes. I want to make it soon and hopefully share the recipe with you!

Hobbies

This particular thing takes a huge part into making our autumn a happy place. It is so important to discover your own personal hobbies that will make you busy and happy. It can be anything you enjoy doing – doing different crafts, reading books, watching movies, playing instruments, dancing, playing sports, making food, going shopping, searching online, watching vlogs etc.etc. It can be anything, just make sure it is close to your heart and makes you truly happy. Also hobbies tend to develop into some kind of goals. That is a wonderful side effect if you ask me!

Take care of you skin

Even though some people may say this doesn’t affect their day, but I honestly think that good sight in the mirror does make us smile more. We feel more confident and content with ourselves if we like our own reflection. So it is very important to take care of our skin these colder months. Use good moisturises, treat yourself with face masks, don`t forget lip balm, drink lots of water and have a healthy and nutritious diet. After that, it is your own preference of how much makeup etc you would like to wear. For example bright lipstick tend to brighten the day. But the essential is to keep our skin looking healthy.

Love and be loved

Last but not least, it is so important to love and be loved. Not only in autumn, but all year around. Small acts of kindness and love give us happiness and energy to achieve our goals and smile brightly. Give love and don`t expect anything in return. After all, this weather is truly cuddle weather! ❤

My Top 10: From perfume to favourite show

Wonderful readers,

Do you recognise yourself trying out different things and changing your opinion about certain things? If you are adventurous and even if you are not, you will see that liking and disliking changes over time.

I find it exciting to notice differences throughout the weeks, months and years. Therefore, I want to make my now list, of things that participate to my happy day and try to inspire you. I will probably make more lists as some of my preferences changes (especially the music part). I have a weird habit to listen to one song constantly until I get over it and find a new one I really like. And then the same thing happens all over again… So here it goes!

My TOP 10:

1. Fave start of the day: Slow morning with banana/oatmeal pancakes.

Oh, how I love to start my day in a slow pace, where I can make my favourite breakfast, which is banana and oatmeal pancakes (recipe is coming soon), take a shower, choose an outfit to wear and eat while watching a show or some Youtube Vlog. Everything mentioned is even better with fresh, beautiful flowers at the side.

2. My favourite Perfume: Saint Laurent – Mon Paris.

A day has to start with the scent of your favourite perfume on your skin. What is your favourite perfume?

3. Favourite Song: LP – Lost On You (Elk Road Remix).

This is a song I play constantly for the last week.

4. Favourite clothing item: Jacket.

I cannot help but always end up liking some jacket at the store. I simply think all kinds of jackets make an outfit special and complete. I like that it is comfortable to wear and at the same time it keeps you warm.

5. Favourite Accessory: A scarf.

My favourite accessory for the autumn is definitely a scarf. It is a challenge for me not to get sick, so a scarf plays double role for me – it keeps my neck warm and gives my outfit a little piece of fabulous detail. I like this blue scarf that my mom gave me the most.

6. Thing that amazes me over and over again: Colourful Sunset.

I love sunsets in general and when the sky decides to be playful by showing up in all kinds of different shades, it gets me smiling every time. The most amazing sunset I have experienced so far happened this summer, while visiting a city called Palanga in Lithuania, by the Baltic Sea. It was truly magical and unbelievable!

7. Favourite dessert: Macaroons.

I cannot remember for how long I have Macaroons on my top list for my favourite desserts. I cannot wait sharing with you my tested homemade macaroon recipe! It is amazing! Oh, and if you read my previous post, my good friend got married this weekend. And you know what, she ordered macaroons just for me and her sister, because all three of us use to buy macaroons every time I go to Lithuania. How sweet is she?

8. Favourite Drink: Chai Latte.

A cup of this goodness always gets me inspired.

9. Favourite show: New Girl.

Every time I want to laugh and watch something light, I head for the New Girl. I like all of the actors on the show and how they bring out different personalities you can maybe relate to or simply laugh about. I really like the humour of the show!

10. Hobby: Making Videos.

Making travel videos in particular. Capturing amazing views and interesting surroundings. Making funny dancing steps while being surrounded by warm atmosphere. I feel really content while filming, dancing and editing it later on. And how fun is it to watch the video after couple of months or even years! This is my latest video.

I hope you liked my personal top 10 things that participate to my happy day!

Individuals

IMG_8832 2

Mirrors and shadows, sceneries and memories, love and thoughts.

One moment we make them, another moment we get them.

Life is unpredictable, unexpected, hard and beautiful.

With our thoughts we make our world,

As Buddha meant with happy applause.

If you are not controlled by your made beliefs,

Then you can feel completely free and enjoy yourself being happy.

We often talk in general, about groups of people,

Without looking deeper, into their achievements,

Individual souls and sweetness.

We make these theories that serve to our beliefs.

But they are wrong, and push people into making wrong decisions.

Because we start acting according to them.

So by starting to see everyone as individuals,

We will make a huge step forward. To you, to him, to her, to us.

The scenery you see here, and memory I feel,

Are mix of all these things, combined with gorgeous dreams.

You have to make your own decisions and live Your life.

No comparisons to others, embracing yourself is the key.

And you have probably heard this before,

But Love does wonders to your whole body and soul.

My inspiration for the day is this book I read recently called “The Man Who Wanted To Be Happy” by Laurent Gounelle. I read the book translated into Lithuanian language. It inspired me to think and look deeper into reactions of things and how we perceive people and different situations. Positive thoughts and good attitude do not always come easy. Sometimes we have to look from aside and think deeper to realise.

Friendship

Friendships are very important for life.

Best to have a few, but 100% true.

IMG_9168

Why do some friendships last,

While others fall and crash?

I do believe in soulmates,

In souls that are related, in faith and good vibrations.

I do believe that friends should always equally care for each other,

Truthfully want to be with one another.

Honest conversations,

Dreams and motivations,

Constant inspirations,

Laughter and frustrations.

There is wonderful silence while together,

And you feel comfortable about each other.

And here comes different degrees of friendships

´Cause best friends can mock you

But always will love you.

And in the end, what matters the most

Is how happy you are and happiness you own.

They only want what is best for your soul.
