Closer View

Looking far in front,

Generally seeing green, wide patch.

Coming closer with few steps,

Scenery reveal colours, more than green.

Then a few steps follow after,

Patterns seem pretend to flatter.

Your soul, your eyes, you want to see it hard.

When you bend and realise,

What could have slipped through your eyes.

Every single detail you try to see,

And I praise you for that,

Since not many will,

Stop for a moment and look closer at this dream.

Pure dews this time have caught your eye.

In our busy life, these things seem obvious. Dews only slipp away, flower scents and colours fade away, trees seem to block the sun and grass you use for shortcuts. Of course, it`s our norm, we have to go places and often we are late. However, I know you have those five minutes to notice something pretty or something you find remarkable. That can be actions not only sights. That can be words or scents or sight of innovation. Notice, smile, create! It is Your day!

Let`s go hiking!

Mountains are very beautiful with views that take your breath away. However, as I am a city girl, I have never been a fan of mountains or hiking. But when you live in Norway, you simply have to try it!

So we hiked for about 3 hours to a mountain called Gaustatoppen (1883 metres), situated near the city called Rjukan in Norway. This mountain is considered as the highest mountain in the area Telemark. The way up was covered in stones as it made the way up quite unstable. We took a family path up, but you can also take more advanced and extreme one, if you are an enthusiast and well experienced in hiking. The views were of course magnificent and many people were hiking in front of us and behind us. There is also a cable car (Gaustabanen) which can take you to the top!

At times it seemed a bit tough on the legs, but other than that it wasn’t that bad. Mostly it was really really cold. Especially on the top. So be sure to bring some warm clothes. It depends on the day of course, but we hiked in July and it was still really cold.

To summarise it all, it was a different, beautiful and fun experience which I will remember for life! Enjoy the photos. 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: NIDA video

The last video of my Lithuanian Sea Coast series is here. I hope you enjoyed these videos and you are looking forward for what is here to follow! ❤

Screen Shot 2017-07-22 at 17.23.18

Personally, I have really enjoyed making these videos and sharing them with you guys, because I got a chance to relive these beautiful moments. Making this kind of travel videos in general is a big passion of mine. And I know for sure that it will be so amazing to watch these summer vacation videos in winter time and see how beautiful my home country is, if you look at it in the right angle. When sad thoughts come into your head, when you simply cannot wait for the warmth, sun, vacation and summer activities, memory videos like these help a lot. Also for inspiration, happiness and beautiful views. You simply get reminded of blessings in your life.

Enough of the sentimental thoughts. I guess, I am missing this vacation already. 🙂 Let`s talk a bit about this vacation resort town called Nida. This town is indeed really beautiful with its own charm and relaxing vibe, situated in the centre of Neringa municipality. As you can see in the video, it is way smaller than Klaipeda and Palanga, and we only stayed there for half a day. We took a ferry from Klaipeda to Smiltyne, which took us only 5 minutes. It is really fast. And then, if you go by car, it takes around half an hour to drive from the ferry to Nida. You also drive past Juodkrante, which is also a small, nice and cozy resort. There are beautiful bike paths from Smiltyne to Nida. If you are a sporty person and bike enthusiast, try biking both ways!

You will find one main path by the sea, both for pedestrians and bikes in Nida, which leads you to the beautiful dunes (kopos in Lithuanian, as I am saying in the video, since I really didn’t know the word dunes then). Dunes is such an unusual landscape created by the sea and wind. When you get up the stairs, you get to see a breathtaking view, which you have to experience yourself! Only there and then you understand how fragile and at the same time mighty this landscape is. Behind the scenes were us, simply sitting on the sand, enjoying the view and eating fresh strawberries from the garden.

There is a feeling of slow life in Nida. As you can spot in the video below, while we walked besides, an old woman was slowly hanging her newly washed clothes on the wire for them to dry outside. Around two hours later, when we walked back to the car, the woman was still slowly hanging the clothes and talking to her neighbour. How cute is that? This shows that you have to really slow down in Nida and truly relax.

What is a bit sad about this resort is the fact that it`s quite expensive. However, it is totally understandable why. The climate of Lithuania won’t let the tourists enjoy Nida in any other season, except of summer. Restaurants, hotels and other businesses only have three short months to do their thing. It is natural that they have to increase their prices in order to survive. Also you have to pay 20 euros in order to be able to drive into this beautiful town with a car. And you know what, there wasn’t a second that we doubted whether we should go to Nida or not. It is totally worth it!

Enjoy the video in HD and I hope you will visit Nida some day! Also check out my Palanga and Klaipeda videos in my previous posts, if you haven’t done it yet, and feel free to tell me what you think! 🙂

Much love and positivity,

Lithuanian Sea Coast: PALANGA video

The time has come for my second Travel with Rūta video, this time from a city called Palanga. A vacation resort well known for the Lithuanians as well as some foreigners. A city of romance!

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 21.26.07

When I was still living in Lithuania, this town was our family number one vacation spot in summer time. I didn’t use to care about the cold sea water, since the Baltic Sea doesn’t really get warmer than 18 degrees. However, saying that you get use to good things fast is  very true. As fast as you get to know a truly warm sea, you just don’t feel the need to go into cold sea. There is good enough to only feel the water with your feet. That is what I did and I feel very content about it. No regrets about not swimming in the Baltic Sea this time!

A long beach stretches out far far away, to other small town called Šventoji and has in all a seafront of 25 kilometres! Light and pleasant sand, soughing waves and special dunes. The combination of these things will give you peace of mind and sense of harmony. If you decide to go far by the sea, you can try to find some amber or pretty shells.

Unique dunes is an ideal place to hide yourself from the wind or to find a more comfortable, intimate and warmer corner. The beach in Palanga is very crowded on a warmer day, especially in the weekends in summer time. Therefore, the dunes are the place to be for the people who like a more quiet and private relaxation.

If you ever go to this city, do not forget to visit famous Palanga bridge (Palangos tiltas), where people gather together to watch remarkable sunsets. We were lucky enough to experience an outstanding sunset while visiting Palanga. It is hard to describe it. You will see it in my video which is in the bottom of this post. To see it in video is of course not the same as being in the moment, but you will get an idea of how perfect it was. And yes, I really think it was perfect. ❤

Some other famous places are the famous Basanavicius street, is where all the fun is situated – different bars, cafes, clubs, attractions and activities, where different music is being played and performed live on the evenings. Also Tiškevičiai Palace and Amber Museum, Birutė Park and Musical Fountain. These are the places shown in the video that are worth a visit or two!

I hope you will enjoy the video and catch a happy inspiration! Don’t forget to watch it in HD! 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: KLAIPEDA video

Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 20.26.49.png

How are you guys doing?

I have been in my home country Lithuania for the last couple of weeks. The most of my time was spent by the Lithuanian sea coast, which is on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. The weather wasn’t that pleasant at times, as August tends to be a warmer month there. However, we had such an amazing time doing different activities.

I decided to do a Lithuanian Sea Coast series, consisting of 3 short Travel with Ruta videos from the cities Klaipeda, Nida and Palanga. I will tell you more closely about some special and exciting things I have done while abroad in other blog post. For example meeting some super cute baby tigers in Klaipeda Zoo and I will share some outfits of the day.

Let`s start our journey together by watching my travel video from Klaipeda, the third largest city in Lithuania, situated by the Baltic Sea. This video consists of sightseeing, beautiful beaches and of course some funny dance moves, just the way I like it. While I am in progress with different exciting activities, I usually forget to film. Not only forget, but there is simply no time for filming when excitement hits your head. Therefore, my travel videos usually don’t include activities, but rather sightseeing and nature.

I hope you will enjoy it and catch that good and happy vibe, which you can use as inspiration for positive travels in style! Follow me and we will be in touch. (Don’t forget to watch the video in HD.) 🙂

Mighty and Fragile

FullSizeRender-51.jpg

Mighty nature can make us fragile,

Can make us helpless, like we don’t matter.

By we I mean people,

Our beautiful souls,

But what can we know, if we forget to clear our flaws?

You see,

Nature is also fragile to us,

As people can tend to ruin it in a flash.

Move of a finger, human being is in charge,

And nature is going for a makeover,

Called version extreme, for ever it lasts.

At least take a moment, to notice it, dear

All mighty and fragile,

In one single frame.

Beautiful Places -> My Bucket List

Todays blog post is all about the Dream Destinations. Don’t you agree that we all should dream about the topic? Eventually take actions into our hands and make dreams into reality? Do your dreams look like they will only stay as dreams, so you almost want to give up dreaming completely?

There are so many beautiful corners of the world I would like to visit, probably many I don’t even know about. And I can say that sometimes those places look so far away, as I would never reach them. But I don’t like to think in that way. It is much better to think that one day you will be there, only looking back at yourself daydreaming and wishing to be at that place you see in front of you right now. Thinking positively will only increase your chances of making your dream destination into a reality! So maybe it is actually better to call it a plan and not a dream?

When you finally reach your dream place, it is important to remember not to rush through the experience, but rather feel every moment with your body and heart. It is important to collect those memories and experiences, as they give you some valuable life lessons you will appreciate today, tomorrow or after a while.

It is actually hard to write a bucket list, since there are so many beautiful and interesting cities, countries and islands I would like to visit. However, there are places I have been wanting to visit for quite some time. So here I chose 10 of those I have been wanting to visit the most.

Portugal

Nature, beaches, buildings, friendly people, good atmosphere, long nights and sunny days. Who wouldn’t like to visit this country?

Praia_da_Marinha_(2012-09-27),_by_Klugschnacker_in_Wikipedia_(1)

Santorini, Greece

This island really attracts me with the white buildings and different architecture. The vibe of this place looks so different from where I live. Therefore, I think visiting this place would be an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful-Santorini-Greece

Kreta

Another island I would really like to visit, where you find beautiful nature, beaches, culture and can experience ultimate vacation.

Kreta-map-oversikt-TOPPBILDE

Menorca, Fuerteventura, Tenerife…

Since I loved Mallorca so much, I would like to visit the rest of Spanish Islands, to experience the differences and similarities, and feel the ultimate satisfaction once again. I simply cannot choose one of these islands…

California

From all of the states in the United States of America, I would like to visit California the most. With such a big influence from the Hollywood movies and TV shows I have always wanted to visit this particular part. We have all seen this place in movies, but it would be a whole different feeling to experience the place in reality and make own memories and notes on things.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Colourful and never sleeping place with bright colours, wild dances, fiestas and parades, exotic fruits and deep culture. One of my friends lives in Brazil, and I would be more than happy to visit her there!

christ-the-redeemer.jpg

Paris, France

I haven’t visited Paris yet, where the romance is said to be blooming and my love for macaroons would be experienced by tasting the original ones! I would also really like to visit Disney World while being there.

Sicily, Italy

I have been in Rome around 4 years ago. The city seemed so full of culture and historic heritage. The next on my wish list from Italy is beautiful Sicily!

Maldives

I love beach life, and the water in Maldives looks unbelievable. Do I have to say more?

08A_MLE_island_viewxxxx_01203

Bali, Indonesia

The place seems to have such a relaxing vibe. There are many movies and stories about Bali, referring to it as a healing place where you find your harmony and balance.

indonesia.jpg

Now I feel like I completely reached my own dream land. How much would I like to take photos at these beautiful places, make videos and simply enjoy my time with amazing company. I hope one day I will look back at this post, only to discover that all of this bucket list has been fulfilled and I already will have another bucket list of dream destinations  ready to share. ❤

Keep on daydreaming and who knows, maybe one day your dream won’t longer be a dream, but a reality.

Since this is my bucket list and I haven’t visited these beautiful places yet, the pictures are obviously been taken from Google. Thank you Google! 🙂

When You are in Doubt -> Inspirational Travel Quotes

Have you ever been in doubt whether you should travel somewhere or not? I have experienced that a lot of people are still afraid to step out of their comfort zone when it comes to travelling. Meaning it is easier to stay at the place where everything is known and where you feel comfortable. Therefore, inspirational travel quotes are always a good idea when you are in doubt whether you should invest your money into this experience!

IMG_9113

Personally, I can spot myself wanting to go to a place where I have been before just because I know that I like that place so much and will experience maximum relaxation and joy. Instead of going to a place where I can get disappointed. However, you have to take that risk in order to discover wonderful places that will give you unforgettable memories. At the same time, every town, city and country has its own vibe and beauty. Therefore, we should always consider all of the sides and don’t be that judgemental. It is important to know what we want to get from travelling and with that in mind you are ready to choose a destination!

If you are in doubt or only need some motivation, read these or other wonderful inspirational travel quotes and you will be willing to explore our wonderful world! Don’t hesitate and book a vacation. After all, memories and experiences you will have for life. ❤

Summertime Colours and Smiles

FullSizeRender-23

Can you think of a day

You would be content with it all…

Does it include love?

Your passion, peace, activities or a hug?

Summertime colours and smiles,

Bring some joy and healthy shine,

To your face and your mind,

To your soul as well, how nice…

Sunshine helps to keep it alive,

Spread the love around,

Because there is no time to hide,

The stage is yours,

Your life is your show.

Live it to the fullest!

My favourite parks in Oslo, Norway

What can be better than finding a beautiful park in the middle of the city? Here, I will share my personal favourite parks in Oslo, Norway.

The first is definitely Royal Palace Park, which is probably the most central park in Oslo. It is not that big, but such a peaceful and green park! The main street is just down the hill, which makes it a great location for some relaxation! There are many beautiful plants, fountains and ducks swimming in the pond. You can imagine yourself as a royal while walking around, if you have a bright imagination. This park is especially beautiful in the evening, as the sun is slowly settling down between the trees. It is such a magnificent sight!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Number second would be Frogner park with Vigeland Sculpture Park inside of it, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oslo. It is situated in the area called Majorstuen. There are plenty of tourists in Vigeland Sculpture Park on summertime, to see all wonderful naked sculptures and roses blooming in all shapes and colours. While Frogner Park is a popular place among the locals, where people like to walk their dogs, go for a run or just enjoy their time – sunbathing, grilling, being with their friends or family. It is very nice to walk around the park and discover simple hidden nature beauties. I love waterfalls, small or big, it doesn’t matter. This park has it, and I am so glad for it! It is actually the largest park in the central parts of Oslo.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

There are no roses in the park yet, but I will definitely take some photos once the roses will start blooming in all kinds of beautiful colours. 🙂

Last but not least, there is a place called Sognsvann. I am not sure if it is considered as a park, but I look at it as one. There is a lake with a walking/running path that goes around the whole lake, which is around 3 kilometres long. Also there is an area which is great for sunbathing, fishing, grilling and picnics. You can also go for a swim or work out on the grass. People really love this place for work outs and runs. However, at warm days the place is packed with people sunbathing and grilling. If you don’t like to be in the mass, you can walk a bit by the lake and find a small, private space besides the water. Enjoy nature in your own way. This lake is not situated in the city centre, so you have either to take the metro or drive the car. There are plenty of parking spots, completely for free! Doesn’t this sound amazing?

If you are really into different plants and trees, then you should also visit Botanical Garden in the area called Tøyen. I used to work in this place and I can definitely say that it is a beautiful park worth a visit. Also a popular place for wedding photoshoots. Would you like to take a picture by the palm tree while in Oslo? Then this is the place you want to visit!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Take a walk in the park and smell the fresh air. Because sometimes that is all You need!♡

Much love and positivity,

Ruta Antana
