Recently, my amazing friend Valda visited me in Oslo for a couple of days and we were lucky enough to experience some sunny days, considering the unexpected weather conditions. And what can be better than spending the day walking slowly around the city centre, talking, laughing, taking pictures, grabbing some ice coffee and in general just enjoying your time? But in order to really feel good about yourself, put a bit of effort to combine an outfit you will feel confident and beautiful in. And here it is, you are ready to take over the streets!
Pastel and bright colours are wonderful choice on sunny days, as they appear fresh, playful and clean. Don’t let the sun over shine you, be someones sunshine and make them smile! 🙂 We chose to make outfits with my two pastel jackets. As my love for ripped jeans is still here, I could not resist to mix those with my jacket. Red purse was my biggest accent and accessory along with my pastel yellow jacket. My friend chose light blue cropped jeans that matched her beautiful light blue blouse and shiny leather shoes was her outfit accent along with the pastel pink jacket.
What can be better than finding a beautiful park in the middle of the city? Here, I will share my personal favourite parks in Oslo, Norway.
The first is definitely Royal Palace Park, which is probably the most central park in Oslo. It is not that big, but such a peaceful and green park! The main street is just down the hill, which makes it a great location for some relaxation! There are many beautiful plants, fountains and ducks swimming in the pond. You can imagine yourself as a royal while walking around, if you have a bright imagination. This park is especially beautiful in the evening, as the sun is slowly settling down between the trees. It is such a magnificent sight!
Number second would be Frogner park with Vigeland Sculpture Park inside of it, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oslo. It is situated in the area called Majorstuen. There are plenty of tourists in Vigeland Sculpture Park on summertime, to see all wonderful naked sculptures and roses blooming in all shapes and colours. While Frogner Park is a popular place among the locals, where people like to walk their dogs, go for a run or just enjoy their time – sunbathing, grilling, being with their friends or family. It is very nice to walk around the park and discover simple hidden nature beauties. I love waterfalls, small or big, it doesn’t matter. This park has it, and I am so glad for it! It is actually the largest park in the central parts of Oslo.
There are no roses in the park yet, but I will definitely take some photos once the roses will start blooming in all kinds of beautiful colours. 🙂
Last but not least, there is a place called Sognsvann. I am not sure if it is considered as a park, but I look at it as one. There is a lake with a walking/running path that goes around the whole lake, which is around 3 kilometres long. Also there is an area which is great for sunbathing, fishing, grilling and picnics. You can also go for a swim or work out on the grass. People really love this place for work outs and runs. However, at warm days the place is packed with people sunbathing and grilling. If you don’t like to be in the mass, you can walk a bit by the lake and find a small, private space besides the water. Enjoy nature in your own way. This lake is not situated in the city centre, so you have either to take the metro or drive the car. There are plenty of parking spots, completely for free! Doesn’t this sound amazing?
If you are really into different plants and trees, then you should also visit Botanical Garden in the area called Tøyen. I used to work in this place and I can definitely say that it is a beautiful park worth a visit. Also a popular place for wedding photoshoots. Would you like to take a picture by the palm tree while in Oslo? Then this is the place you want to visit!
Take a walk in the park and smell the fresh air. Because sometimes that is all You need!♡
I was looking at some older photos and remembered one very nice trip that took place last July. So I decided to happily write about it!
When I visit my home country Lithuania, my girl friends and I have a tradition to visit a lot of different cafés. It is very exciting and fun. Since we were little girls, we used to save some money and visit our local café for a little treat. We always thought that it was a great way to spend some time together, catch up on things and treat ourselves properly. However, the last time I visited Lithuania in summer, we decided to do something different – to spend a day in Trakai. And of course, it included treats and goodies! 🙂
A short train ride from the capital of Lithuania, which is Vilnius, you will find a small but rather beautiful town called Trakai. It is a historical town and lake resort, which makes it a great tourist attraction with beautiful nature, history, culture and relaxation. We started our trip by taking a train from Vilnius to Trakai, which took us around half an hour. After that, we walked through the park by the lake to the city centre, where the beautiful castle of Trakai is situated. Where people walk slowly, go for a boat or yacht ride, take lots of pictures, buy various of things in the streets and eat delicious food in the restaurants. Trakai is also very popular place for wedding photoshoots.
Since the walking takes quite some time, it was about time to grab something to eat. And you ask what you could eat while visiting Trakai? Well, all Lithuanians know Trakai of their traditional heritage, which is called Kibinai (singular: kibinas). Therefore, You should definitely order one of those while visiting this beautiful town. But what is Kibinai? Basically dough pastry filled with meat and onion. It is usually made with different meats so you can choose the kind you prefer the most. Also they have vegetarian Kibinai, filled with cottage cheese and spinach. Delicious!
I am enjoying home made lemonade!

And guys, it was such a hot day! My shorts were literally glued to my legs. It was almost impossible to be in the sun. So after we ate, we found a wonderful shade spot under the trees besides the castle. There we sat, read a magazine and simply enjoyed peaceful surroundings.
The Castle of Trakai is situated on the island, surrounded by lake Galvė. There is a bridge leading you to the castle, and you can walk around it for free, and inside can be visited by buying a ticket. This wonderful visit of ours was ended with some tasty ice cream and by taking a yacht! It is also one of the most common attractions in Trakai. On the hot day like that, it was perfect, so relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommended to spend a summer day in this beautiful town!
Long walks combined with long conversations… You simply walk without knowing where you are going. You are following the path. Eventually you stop, find a place to sit, enjoy the nature and your lovely company. You feel as this is your place, you belong here. This feeling is magical and brings a lot of good emotions. Have you experienced something like this while being on holiday?
Small, pretty and cozy, previous fishing village, situated on the east coast, which is on the other side from Palma de Mallorca. The town is called S`illot. There are pedestrian ways, where you are able to walk or bike to other nearby places, such as Sa Coma, Cala Millor and Porto Cristo. The beach in S`illot is quite small, so walking to the beaches nearby is a great solution. And oh, one more thing, parking is free all around. Even arriving at 9pm in July, we found available parking spot. Well, don’t have that high of expectations for the parking spot looks. The most important thing is that you can find a place for your rented car which is nearby and completely for free! We stayed at the Universal Hotel Perla, which was located by the beach, with great service and delicious buffet breakfast.
You like night life? Well, then this town is not that great of a choice. The only night place they provide is called Crazy Monkey Bar. There wasn’t that much action when we visited that place, but the music was still fully on. The positive thing is that the whole dance floor is yours! If you are brave enough to dance alone of course, it takes courage to start something, such as dancing when no-one else is doing so. But always remember, that life is actually too short to constantly be afraid of everything, especially things you want to do. If you want to dance, but are afraid of what people will think of you, who cares, you will probably never see them again after that night anyways and they are sipping on those fancy cocktails and will probably join you after a while. So let your hair loose, put on a favourite dress and dance for as long as you wish. The dance floor is yours!
S`illot is also close to an amazing place called Cuevas del Drach. The cave situated in Porto Cristo has been known since the Middle Ages and has a maximum depth of 25 metres below the ground level. There is an underground lake situated in the cave called Lake Martel. This Cave visit ends with a short but beautiful classical concert performed by four talented musicians playing in the boat. There is completely dark in the cave, except of bulbs situated in the musicians boat. Wonderful experience! You can simply close your eyes and enjoy the magical moment. And there is a boat trip at the very end across Lake Martel!
One more thing which we did that was very fun. That was a boat ride. Two hour long boat ride through splashing water, both dark blue and crystal clear turquoise, with some amazing views of caves, cliffs and cities. I also had my Marilyn Monroe moment while on the boat, (which you can see on the second slideshow), since the wind was so strong as the boat moved. It was so much fun! Also not to mention the guy that pronounced all the places we arrived to in a very amusing way. You have to really experience it to understand. But the memories are strong which means it was amazing!
