Creating Memories

Hello readers,

I just realised I haven’t posted the video of me and my friend having fun in June, when she was visiting me for a couple of days.

It is so wonderful to have friendships that you know will last. Friendships where you can be completely yourself and simply get yourself loose having fun in your way. This video is about nothing, and at the same time about everything that friendship gives to you. Also we were exploring Oslo while taking breaks on the benches, having ice coffee and doing other things. We were also lucky enough to grab one of those sightseeing trains completely for free. Therefore, sightseeing views are included!

In the video you see famous places in Oslo, such as Ekeberg Park, The Royal Palace, Palace Park, Aker Brygge, City Hall, Panorama view of Oslo and different sculptures and flowers.

We didn’t film that much since it is easy to forget in the process. However, I always try to think how much fun I will have creating, putting together these clips and looking back at them.  Therefore, make yourself memories that will last. Photos, videos, letters, things you will look at and remember that exact moment which will bring out a smile. Choose one of the following or create something else valuable for you and make it a tradition! 🙂

White ZARA Jacket + OOTD`s

Can you imagine when a clothing item is meant to be yours?

You discover it for the first time when the store launches their new collection. It catches your eyes immediately and you think it looks amazing. However, at the time, the price seems a bit too high, so you simply walk away and forget about it.

Only to discover the sales after some months. And then you meet again, after a while, but still the same attraction… Completely random if you think about it, but at the same time perfect timing, as you will realise later.

You walk closer, there is only one jacket left. Your palms start to sweat slightly and slowly while you carefully lift the price tag, to look for which size is left alone. And then, you imagine sparkles in your eyes and feel the joy drifting through your body. All this because this is your size! You feel a desire to shout in excitement so the whole store could hear you. Obviously, you keep it inside of you and instead try the jacket on, there and then. Don’t bother going into the changing room only for a jacket, when there are mirrors everywhere. You put it on and it fits perfectly and looks really great on you! Why wait anymore, you go and buy it!

This is the story about my Zara jacket which I bought on sale before my trip and wore it almost everyday in Lithuania. I guess it is not that bad that it was chilly there. As my friend said to me – in spite of the weather conditions, at least you got a chance to wear this beautiful jacket. 😀

Here are some OOTD`s with this jacket from my vacation in Lithuania!

Lithuanian Sea Coast: NIDA video

The last video of my Lithuanian Sea Coast series is here. I hope you enjoyed these videos and you are looking forward for what is here to follow! ❤

Screen Shot 2017-07-22 at 17.23.18

Personally, I have really enjoyed making these videos and sharing them with you guys, because I got a chance to relive these beautiful moments. Making this kind of travel videos in general is a big passion of mine. And I know for sure that it will be so amazing to watch these summer vacation videos in winter time and see how beautiful my home country is, if you look at it in the right angle. When sad thoughts come into your head, when you simply cannot wait for the warmth, sun, vacation and summer activities, memory videos like these help a lot. Also for inspiration, happiness and beautiful views. You simply get reminded of blessings in your life.

Enough of the sentimental thoughts. I guess, I am missing this vacation already. 🙂 Let`s talk a bit about this vacation resort town called Nida. This town is indeed really beautiful with its own charm and relaxing vibe, situated in the centre of Neringa municipality. As you can see in the video, it is way smaller than Klaipeda and Palanga, and we only stayed there for half a day. We took a ferry from Klaipeda to Smiltyne, which took us only 5 minutes. It is really fast. And then, if you go by car, it takes around half an hour to drive from the ferry to Nida. You also drive past Juodkrante, which is also a small, nice and cozy resort. There are beautiful bike paths from Smiltyne to Nida. If you are a sporty person and bike enthusiast, try biking both ways!

You will find one main path by the sea, both for pedestrians and bikes in Nida, which leads you to the beautiful dunes (kopos in Lithuanian, as I am saying in the video, since I really didn’t know the word dunes then). Dunes is such an unusual landscape created by the sea and wind. When you get up the stairs, you get to see a breathtaking view, which you have to experience yourself! Only there and then you understand how fragile and at the same time mighty this landscape is. Behind the scenes were us, simply sitting on the sand, enjoying the view and eating fresh strawberries from the garden.

There is a feeling of slow life in Nida. As you can spot in the video below, while we walked besides, an old woman was slowly hanging her newly washed clothes on the wire for them to dry outside. Around two hours later, when we walked back to the car, the woman was still slowly hanging the clothes and talking to her neighbour. How cute is that? This shows that you have to really slow down in Nida and truly relax.

What is a bit sad about this resort is the fact that it`s quite expensive. However, it is totally understandable why. The climate of Lithuania won’t let the tourists enjoy Nida in any other season, except of summer. Restaurants, hotels and other businesses only have three short months to do their thing. It is natural that they have to increase their prices in order to survive. Also you have to pay 20 euros in order to be able to drive into this beautiful town with a car. And you know what, there wasn’t a second that we doubted whether we should go to Nida or not. It is totally worth it!

Enjoy the video in HD and I hope you will visit Nida some day! Also check out my Palanga and Klaipeda videos in my previous posts, if you haven’t done it yet, and feel free to tell me what you think! 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: PALANGA video

The time has come for my second Travel with Rūta video, this time from a city called Palanga. A vacation resort well known for the Lithuanians as well as some foreigners. A city of romance!

Screen Shot 2017-07-18 at 21.26.07

When I was still living in Lithuania, this town was our family number one vacation spot in summer time. I didn’t use to care about the cold sea water, since the Baltic Sea doesn’t really get warmer than 18 degrees. However, saying that you get use to good things fast is  very true. As fast as you get to know a truly warm sea, you just don’t feel the need to go into cold sea. There is good enough to only feel the water with your feet. That is what I did and I feel very content about it. No regrets about not swimming in the Baltic Sea this time!

A long beach stretches out far far away, to other small town called Šventoji and has in all a seafront of 25 kilometres! Light and pleasant sand, soughing waves and special dunes. The combination of these things will give you peace of mind and sense of harmony. If you decide to go far by the sea, you can try to find some amber or pretty shells.

Unique dunes is an ideal place to hide yourself from the wind or to find a more comfortable, intimate and warmer corner. The beach in Palanga is very crowded on a warmer day, especially in the weekends in summer time. Therefore, the dunes are the place to be for the people who like a more quiet and private relaxation.

If you ever go to this city, do not forget to visit famous Palanga bridge (Palangos tiltas), where people gather together to watch remarkable sunsets. We were lucky enough to experience an outstanding sunset while visiting Palanga. It is hard to describe it. You will see it in my video which is in the bottom of this post. To see it in video is of course not the same as being in the moment, but you will get an idea of how perfect it was. And yes, I really think it was perfect. ❤

Some other famous places are the famous Basanavicius street, is where all the fun is situated – different bars, cafes, clubs, attractions and activities, where different music is being played and performed live on the evenings. Also Tiškevičiai Palace and Amber Museum, Birutė Park and Musical Fountain. These are the places shown in the video that are worth a visit or two!

I hope you will enjoy the video and catch a happy inspiration! Don’t forget to watch it in HD! 🙂

Lithuanian Sea Coast: KLAIPEDA video

Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 20.26.49.png

How are you guys doing?

I have been in my home country Lithuania for the last couple of weeks. The most of my time was spent by the Lithuanian sea coast, which is on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. The weather wasn’t that pleasant at times, as August tends to be a warmer month there. However, we had such an amazing time doing different activities.

I decided to do a Lithuanian Sea Coast series, consisting of 3 short Travel with Ruta videos from the cities Klaipeda, Nida and Palanga. I will tell you more closely about some special and exciting things I have done while abroad in other blog post. For example meeting some super cute baby tigers in Klaipeda Zoo and I will share some outfits of the day.

Let`s start our journey together by watching my travel video from Klaipeda, the third largest city in Lithuania, situated by the Baltic Sea. This video consists of sightseeing, beautiful beaches and of course some funny dance moves, just the way I like it. While I am in progress with different exciting activities, I usually forget to film. Not only forget, but there is simply no time for filming when excitement hits your head. Therefore, my travel videos usually don’t include activities, but rather sightseeing and nature.

I hope you will enjoy it and catch that good and happy vibe, which you can use as inspiration for positive travels in style! Follow me and we will be in touch. (Don’t forget to watch the video in HD.) 🙂

Explore LONDON continues

Time simply flies away when you have fun, they say, and it is absolutely true! That is what happened the next days we spent in London. No surprise we missed our evening ride on London Eye…

You see, we bought a Day & Night tickets, in order to see London by day and by night. The first admission has to be made during 10:00 to 16:00. The second admission has to obviously be made after 16:00, but the thing is that we didn’t check when the London Eye closed. We assumed it would be at least at 19:00. And guess what, we take beautiful photos at Buckingham Palace, watch beautiful sunset as we ride in the red bus and walk by the Big Ben towards the London Eye, excited to finish experience the sunset over the city…

We arrive in excitement at 18:30, just to see empty lines and workers smiling, so ready to call it a day. London Eye closed at 18:00 and we were just halv an hour late. Oh well, we already experienced the amazing ride in day time, not minding the rain. There are plenty of things to do in London, have to keep the positive thoughts lined up first row!

Also we didn’t miss an opportunity to experience a show while in London. We saw a show called “Stomp”, performed at Ambassadors Theatre, which is a combination of rhythm, theatre, comedy and dance. There are 8 performers, who use all kinds of things, as kitchen sinks, brooms, plastic bags etc, to create some wonderful, feelgood rhythms. Everything sounded so funky, performed really professionally. No one speaks throughout the whole show, but that is the thing. Only universal language is used! Wonderful and very funny show, full of silent comedy and great funk created by urban things, you could never think using as instruments. I really enjoyed this show and walked from the theatre with a big smile on my face.

The video I made from London (which is down below) sums the whole trip up, with amazing places, buildings, nature… And the little dance is inspired by Zumba (which I really like), to make the video more authentic and interesting to watch! I hope You will enjoy the video, to look at London through my eyes, and it will inspire You in some way. ♡

OSLO in February

So good to look back and actually realise that nature is constantly changing and days are noticeably getting longer. Then it is easier to appreciate the warmer weather and brighter colours. Spring is slowly but confidently knocking on our windows.

Personally I have been living in Oslo for the last 4 years. Oslo is the capital of Norway and it`s quite small, but a lovely city with lots of nature and beautiful architecture. It has a laid back vibe, where people do not really rush that much. I really enjoy taking walks in the streets, especially on Saturdays, when the street musicians are at their best and people enjoy their day off. However, you will see most people outside on Sundays, as Norwegians love to run, sit down, take walks or simply enjoy no matter what kind of weather. Shops are closed on Sundays here in Oslo which makes it rather a perfect time to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Travel Video I made down below, consists of the best known places in Oslo worth visiting, such as:

Royal Palace; The main street called Karl Johan; Main building of the University of Oslo; The City Hall (Rådhuset); Area around Oslo Central Station; The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet House; Cathedral (Dom Kirke); Vigeland Sculpture Park; Movie Theatre Colosseum; Holmenkollen area and Tower; Aker Brygge, Nobels Peace Centre and more.

It is worth noticing that it is a winter travel video where cold colours dominate and nature looks quite different than it does now. Follow me through lovely Oslo and maybe we will stop for a cup of coffee in the end? Let me know if you would like me to make a summer video as well!
